Grant Bartley
Grant is the Head of Music at Cashmere High School, where he has spent two decades cultivating a thriving, diverse classroom and co-curricular program. Beyond the classroom, Grant is a highly sought-after professional organist, harpsichordist, and conductor, frequently appearing with orchestras and choirs throughout New Zealand.
His extensive experience in liturgical music includes previous roles as Assistant Director of Music and organist at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, and most recently, Director of Music at St Mary’s Church. Grant’s leadership extends into the community as the Assistant Conductor of Addington Brass and the organist for the Christchurch Primary Schools Music Festival. He has also served as Musical Director for the Christchurch Youth Choir and as an accompanist and tutor for the NZ Secondary Students’ Choir.
At Cashmere High, Grant directs a wide array of ensembles, including the Orchestra, Concert Band, and several choral groups. His versatility as a Musical Director is further highlighted by his work on major stage productions, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, and Chicago.
